Everything Shower Routine: The Exact Steps That Make Us Feel Brand New

We usually save our everything shower routine for the weekend. It’s the perfect reset to start the week feeling fresh and clean.

Think of it as a long self-care session: four hours in the bedroom and bathroom, music or podcasts playing, coffee or tea in hand, and moving through each step at our own pace.

In this post, I’ll walk you through our full routine and share the products we actually use and love.

It’s always evolving, so make sure to subscribe to stay up to date with future posts. At the bottom, you’ll also find a complete checklist you can screenshot for easy reference.

Step One:

Scalp Oil
We are obsessed with the Mielle Light Rosemary Hair Oil. The light option definitely makes a difference here. It’s perfect for my coarse, curly hair and Meg’s more fine, wavy hair. All you need is one dropperful for your whole head. We both notice significantly thicker hair when we use it regularly. I’ll typically put this on in the morning and then hang out all day with it in until I’m ready to start my shower routine.

Step Two:

Dry Brush
If you’re into dry brushing, you must try raw silk gloves! They’re so much easier to use than a brush and so much more enjoyable. Plus, they’re chic. I first heard about these from Natural Face Bible on Instagram. She shared her fascial skin pulling, and it was so satisfying. She related her healthy fascia to dry brushing. It’s so invigorating, keeps the skin looking healthy and exfoliated, and reduces cellulite. My everything shower starts here!

Step Three:

Shower Time

  • Shampoo: We have been using the RYO Korean haircare shampoo for a few bottles now. Currently, we’re using this one. It smells clean and earthy. Subs perfectly and leaves your scalp feeling invigorated
  • Conditioner: On my everything shower day, I use the RYO Nourishing Treatment. On weekdays when I wash my hair, I use a Conditioner Bar. The bar is light, quick, and gives my hair the perfect shine. I leave it on for a few minutes while I wash my body.
  • Body Wash: We’ve been using the Pura D’or Body Wash. There’s something about this body wash that just makes you feel so clean and nourished and never makes me feel smothered. It’s filled with Aloe Vera, Chamomile, Lavender, Tea Tree, and natural nutrients—pH balanced for moisturized, soft, fresh-feeling skin. Here’s the body scrubbers we use. They come in a pack of 10, and we rotate and wash them.
  • Shave: I just use our body wash to shave. The slip is amazing, and my skin doesn’t get irritated after using it. I’m not an every-shower shaver, though. Every Sunday, I refresh all of my shaving areas (if I feel like it) and then follow up with my at-home laser. I use the Nood laser.

Dry off with our linen towels—amazing and quick-dry. Good for drying hair without ruining the curls. We sewed our own (kinda), but when we buy them, we’ll buy something like this.

Step Four:

Haircare and Skincare

After drying off, I sit on the little leather stool we have in the bathroom (note: bathroom dresser and stool are a must), file my nails with a glass nail file, trim the toes, and exfoliate my feet. Takes less than 10 minutes total, and if you do it after each shower, you’re always good.

After drying off, go in with the moisturizer! We circulate through a few different products here, but we always mix our lotion with body oil. We make our own body oil (recipe here), and it is the BEST, but we always like to mix it up. When we do, we use the Bio-Oil Skincare Body Oil. Mix that with the Dove Body Cream Vitamin C Lotion (especially on the hands!!!!) and the Good Molecules Body Serum. Mix it with the oil and apply head to toe working it in with a body gua sha.

Time for skincare! To follow my full routine, read here.

Now onto hair care! To follow my after-shower hair routine, read this post where I take you through my whole routine. For reference—I have thick, wavy hair, and it’s a cute shaggy bob situation right now.

And that sums it up!
